Liberty hasn't had much luck against Memorial recently, but that could start to change on Tuesday. The Redhawks will look to defend their home field against the Warriors at 6:00 p.m. Both teams are coming into the matchup red-hot, with Liberty sitting on five straight wins and Memorial on four.
Memorial's hitters are going to have their work cut out for them on Tuesday: Liberty hadn't allowed a single run the last three times they've hit the field. The Redhawks never let Independence get on the board and left with a 16-0 victory on Friday. The result was nothing new for the Redhawks, who have now won 11 contests by six runs or more so far this season.

Addison Hanson made a big impact while hitting and pitching. She looked comfortable on the mound, striking out six batters over 2.2 innings while giving up no earned runs or hits (and not a single walk). She has been consistent for a while: she hasn't tossed less than six strikeouts in 13 consecutive appearances. She was also big at the plate, scoring a run while going 2-for-4.
In other batting news, Madison Terry was incredible, firing off two home runs, seven RBI, and three runs while going 2-for-2. Those seven RBI gave her a new career-high. Another player making a difference was Ainslee Palmer, who scored two runs while going 3-for-3.
Liberty always had someone on base and finished the game having posted an OBP of .714. That's the best OBP they've posted all season.
Meanwhile, Memorial beat Emerson 5-2 on Friday.
Megan Wilson spent all seven innings on the mound, and it's clear why: she surrendered two runs (both of which were unearned) on four hits and racked up eight Ks.
On the hitting side, the team relied heavily on Caiden Coleman, who went 2-for-4 with one home run and three RBI. The team also got some help courtesy of Zoey Chasko, who scored a run and stole two bases while going 1-for-3.
Liberty pushed their record up to 13-5 with the win, which was their fifth straight on the road. The road victories came thanks in part to their pitching effort, having only surrendered 1.6 runs on average over those games. As for Memorial, their win bumped their record up to 13-9.
Liberty took their victory against Memorial when the teams last played back in March by a conclusive 19-2 score. Do the Redhawks have another victory up their sleeve, or will the Warriors turn the tables on them? We'll have the answer soon enough.
