Basketball Game Preview: Purchase Line Red Dragons vs. Harmony Area Owls

The Purchase Line Red Dragons and the Harmony Area Owls will compete for holiday cheer at 7:15 p.m. on Monday. Purchase Line is looking for their season's first win.

Purchase Line is headed in fresh off scoring the most points they have all season. They took a hard 66-52 fall against River Valley on Friday.

Even though the team lost, they still had their share of impressive performances. One of the best came from Jakob Mountain, who went 8 of 18 on his way to 23 points and five rebounds. That's the most points he has posted since back in December of 2023. The team also got some help courtesy of Stephen Perruso, who posted 16 points and five rebounds.

Even though they lost, Purchase Line was working as a unit and finished the game with 12 assists. That's the most assists they've managed all season.

Meanwhile, it's never fun to lose, and it's even less fun to lose 89-48, which was the final score in Harmony Area's tilt against West Branch on Wednesday. The defeat continues a trend for the Owls in their matchups with the Warriors: they've now lost four in a row.

Purchase Line's loss dropped their record down to 0-5. As for Harmony Area, their defeat dropped their record down to 1-3.

Purchase Line suffered a grim 75-52 defeat to Harmony Area in their previous matchup back in January. Thankfully for Purchase Line, Jack Bracken (who dropped a double-double on 38 points and 12 boards) won't be suiting up this time. Will that be enough to change the final result?
