The West Point Pointers will head out on the road to face off against the Northumberland Indians at 7:00 p.m. on Friday. West Point is looking to tack on another W to their four-game streak on the road.
With a playoff game on the line, West Point rose to the challenge on Friday. They snuck past Northampton with a 27-22 victory.
Multiple players turned in solid performances to lead West Point to victory, but perhaps none more so than Gage Davis, who threw for 84 yards and two touchdowns while completing 100% of his passes, and also punched in a touchdown on the ground. Jack Lewis was in the mix too, providing West Point with two touchdowns.
Meanwhile, Northumberland entered their tilt with Westmoreland with three consecutive wins but they'll enter their next game with four. Northumberland simply couldn't be stopped on Friday as they easily beat Westmoreland 70-24 at home. The result was nothing new for Northumberland, who have now won eight contests by 20 points or more so far this season.
Their wins bumped West Point to 8-3 and Northumberland to 9-2.
West Point didn't have too much breathing room in their match against Northumberland in their previous meeting back in March of 2021, but they still walked away with a 14-8 victory. The rematch might be a little tougher for West Point since the squad won't have the home-field advantage this time around. We'll see if the change in venue makes a difference.
