LeRoy gave their fans exactly what they wanted out of a home opener on Monday. They had just enough and edged out the Armstrong Trojans 3-1. For the Panthers, this counts as revenge for the 8-7 win the Trojans walked away with the last time they faced one another back in May of 2023.

Brock Owens spent all seven innings on the mound, and it's clear why: he surrendered only one earned run on three hits and racked up nine Ks.

At the plate, the team relied heavily on Jack Bogema, who went a perfect 2-for-2 with one home run and two RBI.

Coming up, LeRoy is headed away from home for the first time to challenge Roanoke-Benson at 4:30 p.m. on Tuesday. As for Armstrong, they will be defending their home field for the first time this season when they go up against Oblong/Hutsonville/Palestine at 11:00 a.m. on Saturday.
