Northwest lost a heartbreaker the last time they played Hazelwood West, but it's fair to say they got their revenge given the result of Thursday's game. The Lions were the clear victors by a 21-0 margin over the Wildcats on Thursday. The Lions' hitters stepped up their game for this one, as that was the most runs they've scored all season.

Isaak Greenwood looked comfortable as he didn't allow a single earned run and allowed only two hits over four innings pitched. He has been nothing but reliable on the mound: he hasn't given up more than two walks in five consecutive appearances.

At the plate, Lance Highley was incredible, going a perfect 3-for-3 with six RBI, two runs, and one triple. Those three hits gave him a new career-high. Another player making a difference was Colton Benefield, who went 3-for-5 with three runs, three RBI, and one double.

Northwest was getting hits left and right and finished the game having posted a batting average of .639. That was just more of the same: they've now posted a batting average of .300 or higher in five consecutive matchups.

Northwest's win was their third straight on the road, which pushed their record up to 6-11. Those road victories came thanks in part to their hitting performance across that stretch, as they averaged 14.7 runs over those games. As for Hazelwood West, they have traveled a rocky road recently, having lost nine of their last 12 contests. That's put a noticeable dent in their 6-14-1 record this season.

Both squads are looking forward to the support of their home crowds in their upcoming games. Northwest will square off against Rockwood Summit at 4:30 p.m. on Friday. The Falcons' pitching crew has only allowed 3.9 runs per game this season, so the Lions' hitters will have their work cut out for them. As for Hazelwood West, they will challenge Webster Groves at 4:15 p.m. on Monday.
