Brynlee Humphries spent all seven innings on the mound, and it's clear why: she surrendered two runs (both of which were unearned) on three hits and racked up 11 Ks. She has been consistent: she hasn't given up more than one earned run any time she's pitched this season.
At the plate, Riley Thomas was incredible, getting on base in all four of her plate appearances with one home run, three runs, and two RBI. Another player making a difference was Kinley Webb, who went 1-for-4 with one run, one double, and one RBI.
Alexandria-Monroe's win was their fifth straight on the road dating back to last season, which pushed their record up to 5-0. The road victories came thanks in part to their pitching effort, having only surrendered 1.4 runs on average this season. As for Anderson, they now have a losing record of 2-3.
Tuesday's matchup will be a test for both teams' pitchers. Anderson hasn't had any issues making contact this season, having earned a batting average of .341. However, it's not like Alexandria-Monroe struggles in that department as they've averaged .466. With both teams so capable at the plate, fans should be ready for an impressive hitting performance.
