The Liberty Patriots won the last time they faced the Lake Washington Kangaroos, and things went their way on Friday too. Liberty enjoyed a cozy 21-6 victory over Lake Washington. Liberty pushed the score to 21-0 by the end of the third, a deficit Lake Washington cut but never quite recovered from.
Tyson Burley threw for 68 yards and a touchdown while completing 83.3% of his passes. Jaxson Thoresen was his top target, picking up 33 receiving yards and a touchdown. On the ground, Jackson Moffitt picked up 27 receiving yards.
Liberty's win bumped their record up to 4-5. As for Lake Washington, they are on a four-game losing streak that has dropped them down to 3-6.
Liberty will be playing at home against Mt. Rainier at 7:00 p.m. on Thursday. Mt. Rainier will have to bring their A-game into this one, as they are staring down a pretty big deficit in the MaxPreps Washington Rankings (they are ranked 228th, while Liberty is ranked 87th). As for Lake Washington, they will head out on the road to face off against Lakeside at 7:00 p.m. on Friday. Lakeside comes in on a streak of failing to score more than nine points in their last six games, a trend the team is of course eager to reverse.
