The Covenant Christian Warriors will venture away from home to challenge the Beech Grove Hornets at 5:30 p.m. on Thursday. Covenant Christian will aim to continue their three-game streak of scoring more runs each contest than the last.
Covenant Christian is headed in fresh off scoring the most runs they have all season. Their pitchers stepped up to hand Christel House a 15-0 shutout on Wednesday. Perhaps unsurprisingly given the team's high-flying offense, the game also marked the team's biggest win of the season.
Carter Smith and Colin Ferkinhoff made a big impact no matter where they played. Throwing, Smith tossed two innings while giving up no earned runs off one hit. Meanwhile, Ferkinhoff struck out eight batters over three innings while giving up no earned runs or hits (and not a single walk). At the plate, Smith went a perfect 1-for-1 with three RBI, one stolen base, and one run, while Ferkinhoff went a perfect 1-for-1 with one run and one RBI. Those three RBI gave Smith a new career-high.

Those two RBI gave him a new career-high. Another was Henry Boyce, who earned two runs and one stolen base.
Covenant Christian always had someone on base and finished the game having posted an OBP of .800. The team's really been improving in that area: they've now improved their OBP total in three consecutive matches.
Meanwhile, Beech Grove lost 11-4 to Covenant Christian on Tuesday. The Hornets have now taken an 'L' in back-to-back games.
Covenant Christian's record is now 10-6. As for Beech Grove, their loss dropped their record down to 4-12.
The pitchers for both teams better look sharp on Thursday as neither team is afraid to steal. Covenant Christian has been swiping bases left and right this season, having averaged 5.3 stolen bases per game. However, it's not like Beech Grove struggles in that department as they've been averaging 3.1 stolen bases. The only question left is which team can snag more.
Covenant Christian took their victory against Beech Grove when the teams last played on Tuesday by a conclusive 11-4 score. The rematch might be a little tougher for the Warriors since the team won't have the home-field advantage this time around. We'll see if the change in venue makes a difference.
