Tri-Valley recap Oct. 16, 2012
Nordhoff extended the longest winning streak in Tri-Valley this week by beating Oak Park, 20-12. This was the team's seventh consecutive win.
Bishop Diego led the league in scoring this week after putting up 55 points on Santa Paula. Gabe Molina threw for 97 yards and two touchdowns and ran for nine yards in the win.
The Cardinals' offense was tough to stop this week, as it produced the league's top passer, rusher and receiver. On the ground BJ Murillo chipped in 101 yards. Abel Gonzalez helped Bishop Diego's passing attack out by catching two balls for 28 yards.
Tanner Workman provided a threat through the air and on the ground as Nordhoff defeated the Eagles. He completed 11 passes for 147 yards and one touchdown and also ran for one yards. Workman's favorite target this week was Tayler Livingston, who caught two passes for 41 yards.
Thomas Lash was the best wideout in the league this week as Bishop Diego beat the Cardinals. Lash tallied one reception for 63 yards.
Nordhoff's offense has been unstoppable this season and the Rangers feature the season leaders in passing, rushing and receiving yards. Workman has thrown for 1320 yards and 17 touchdowns this season, while Eric Lara has 25 catches for 500 yards. Livingston leads the league in rushing with 688 yards.
A big matchup in the league this week will be when Tony Henney's team takes on Carpinteria. As it stands, the Rangers are in first, while the Warriors are in third.
Oak Park made the biggest jump in the national rankings this week, rising to 5,272 from 5,441. The improvement was the result of 20-12 victory over Terry Shorten's team last week.
