Karnes City entered their tilt with Yoakum on Thursday with three consecutive wins but they'll enter their next game with four. They managed a 49-45 win over the Yoakum Bulldogs. That's more bragging rights for the Badgers, who also won the pair's last head-to-head.

Karnes City got their victory on the backs of several key players, but it was JJ Beaver out in front who posted 14 points and three steals. Beaver has been hot, having posted two or more steals the last five times he's played. Savion Nixon-Thompson was another key player, dropping a double-double on 13 points and 11 rebounds.

Karnes City smashed the offensive glass and finished the game with 15 offensive boards. That strong performance was nothing new for the team: they've now pulled down at least 13 offensive rebounds in six consecutive contests.

Karnes City's win bumped their record up to 11-8. As for Yoakum, this is the second loss in a row for them and nudges their season record down to 6-6.

Karnes City will be staying on the road on Friday to face off against Bloomington at 10:30 a.m. Bloomington has been getting the ball to fall more lately as they've increased their point totals each of their last three games. As for Yoakum, they will venture away from home to challenge Industrial at 7:30 p.m. on January 3, 2025.
