The Paint Branch Panthers will look to defend their home court on Wednesday against the Seneca Valley Screamin' Eagles at 7:15 p.m. Both teams took a loss in their last game, so they'll have plenty of motivation to get the 'W'.
Paint Branch's recent rough patch got a bit rougher on Friday after their seventh straight loss dating back to last season. They fell just short of Damascus by a score of 48-46. The defeat unfortunately continues a disappointing trend for Paint Branch in their matchups with Damascus: they've now lost three in a row.
Meanwhile, Seneca Valley came up short against Bethesda-Chevy Chase on Monday and fell 49-39.
Despite the defeat, Seneca Valley saw an underclassman step up: Jayden Addison scored 16 points along with nine steals. Addison is absolutely dominating the steal category: she's posted at least two every time she's taken the court this season.
Even though they lost, Seneca Valley were smashing the offensive glass and finished the game with 13 offensive rebounds. They easily outclassed their opponents in that department as Bethesda-Chevy Chase only pulled down six offensive rebounds.
Paint Branch's loss dropped their record down to 0-1. As for Seneca Valley, their defeat dropped their record down to 2-1.
Everything came up roses for Paint Branch against Seneca Valley in their previous meeting back in February of 2020 as the squad secured a 80-37 victory. Will Paint Branch repeat their success, or does Seneca Valley have a new game plan this time around? We'll find out soon enough.
