Warren Central is 9-1 against Lawrence Central since January of 2016, and they'll have a chance to extend that success on Friday. The Warren Central Warriors will head out on the road to square off against the Lawrence Central Bears at 6:00 p.m. Both teams come into the match bolstered by wins in their previous matches.
Even though Greensburg scored an imposing 56 points on Tuesday, Warren Central still came out on top. Warren Central managed a 60-56 win over Greensburg.
Denyha Jacobs was her usual excellent self, scoring 27 points along with six steals. The team also got some help courtesy of Denell Jacobs, who scored 12 points along with four steals.
Meanwhile, Lawrence Central had already won 15 in a row (a stretch where they outscored their opponents by an average of 22.5 points), and they went ahead and made it 16 on Tuesday. They walked away with a 45-38 victory over North Central. Given Lawrence Central's advantage in MaxPreps' Indiana basketball rankings (they are ranked first, while North Central is ranked 101st), the result wasn't entirely unexpected.
Warren Central's win bumped their record up to 11-7. As for Lawrence Central, their win was their fifth straight on the road, which pushed their record up to 21-1.
Warren Central skirted past Lawrence Central 60-58 in their previous matchup back in February of 2023. Will Warren Central repeat their success, or does Lawrence Central have a new game plan this time around? We'll find out soon enough.
