After a string of three wins, the McCurtain Bulldogs's good fortune finally ran out on Thursday. They had to suffer through a rough 74-41 loss at the hands of Wright City. McCurtain was in a tough position after the first half, with the score already sitting at 47-18.
Madison Carter continued her habit of posting crazy stat lines for Wright City, scoring 24 points along with seven steals. That makes it five consecutive games in which Carter has scored at least 25% of Wright City's points. The team also got some help courtesy of Braileigh Threadgill, who dropped a double-double on ten points and 13 rebounds.
McCurtain's loss dropped their record down to 9-3. As for Wright City, they pushed their record up to 12-0 with that win, which was their eighth straight on the road dating back to last season.
Both teams will have to hit the road in their upcoming games. McCurtain will face off against Canadian on Saturday. Canadian is coming into the contest on a four-game losing streak. Wright City won't have much time to rest: their next match is against Oktaha on January 5th. Oktaha will be coming into the match with an undefeated record on the line.
