The North Callaway Thunderbirds won the last time they faced the South Callaway Bulldogs, and things went their way on Tuesday too. North Callaway took down South Callaway 63-45. Given North Callaway's advantage in MaxPreps' Missouri basketball rankings (they are ranked 179th, while South Callaway is ranked 422nd), the result wasn't entirely unexpected.
North Callaway's win was a true team effort, with many players turning in solid performances. Perhaps the best among them was Riley Blevins, who scored 14 points along with six rebounds and three steals. The team also got some help courtesy of Lakyn Hartley, who scored 11 points along with eight rebounds and three steals.
North Callaway has been performing well recently as they've won seven of their last nine contests, which provided a nice bump to their 8-4 record this season. As for South Callaway, they are on a five-game losing streak that has dropped them down to 3-8.
North Callaway's road trip will continue as they head out to face South Callaway at 4:30 p.m. on January 9th. As for South Callaway, they will square off against Hermann at 6:00 p.m. on Thursday. Hermann will be looking to keep their three-game home win streak alive.
