The Gulf Breeze Dolphins will be playing in front of their home fans against the Tate Aggies at 7:00 p.m. on Friday. Both teams took a loss in their last game, so they'll have plenty of motivation to get the 'W'.
Gulf Breeze's recent rough patch got a bit rougher on Thursday after their third straight loss. They fell to Tohopekaliga 18-14.
Loss or not, Gulf Breeze got some senior leadership from Battle Alberson who threw for 368 yards and a touchdown and Bryson Rouillier who picked up 167 receiving yards and a touchdown. Rouillier's longest reception was for an incredible 80 yards.
Meanwhile, it's never fun to lose, and it's even less fun to lose 41-13, which was the final score in Tate's tilt against Pace on Friday. While losing is never fun, Tate can't take it too hard given the team's big disadvantage in MaxPreps' Florida football rankings (they are ranked 168th, while Pace is ranked 46th).
Gulf Breeze's defeat dropped their record down to 2-5. As for Tate, their loss ended a four-game streak of wins at home and dropped them to 4-3.
We should be in store for an exciting game Friday as the pair have no problem gaining yardage. Gulf Breeze has been on an offensive roll this season, having averaged 408.4 total yards per game. However, it's not like Tate struggles in that department as they've been averaging 390.4 per game. With a pair of commanding offenses duking it out, the defenses are going to have their work cut out for them.
Everything came up roses for Gulf Breeze against Tate when the teams last played back in October of 2022 as the team secured a 49-21 victory. Does Gulf Breeze have another victory up their sleeve, or will Tate turn the tables on them? We'll have the answer soon enough.
