The Lamar County Bulldogs and the Winston County Yellowjackets squared off in some playoff action on Saturday, but sadly the Lamar County Bulldogs had to settle for second. They fell just short of the Yellowjackets by a score of 54-52. Lamar County was given a dose of their own medicine in this game as the Yellowjackets apparently hadn't forgotten their loss the last time these teams played back in January.
Winston County found their leader in underclassman Lynleigh Cobb, who scored 23 points along with six rebounds and five steals. Cobb is on a roll when it comes to steals, as she's now grabbed three or more in the last four games she's played. The team also got some help courtesy of Lizzy Bass, who scored five points along with 12 rebounds.
Lamar County has not been sharp recently as the team's lost five of their last six games, which put a noticeable dent in their 7-12 record this season. As for Winston County, their win bumped their record up to 13-17.
Lamar County does not have any more games scheduled as of now. Winston County also has no future games currently scheduled.
