East Nicolaus has won three straight games at home, while Dixon has won three straight on the road dating back to last season, but those streaks won't matter much on Wednesday. The Spartans will welcome the Rams at 4:00 p.m. Both squads will be entering this one on the heels of a big victory.
East Nicolaus' pitching crew heads into the matchup hoping to repeat the dominance they displayed on Tuesday. They blew past Winters 14-0. The high-flying hitting performance was a huge turnaround for the Spartans considering their two-run performance the game before.
Kylah Glenn and Stevie Knight were a major factor no matter where they played. Throwing, Glenn pitched two innings while giving up no earned runs off one hit. Meanwhile, Knight tossed two innings while giving up no earned runs or hits. She has been nothing but reliable on the mound: she hasn't given up more than two walks in 12 consecutive appearances. At bat, Glenn went 1-for-2 with one triple and two RBI, while Knight scored a run while going 1-for-3. That triple was Glenn's first of the season.
In other batting news, Lela DeCecco was incredible, going a perfect 3-for-3 with two triples, two runs, and two RBI. Those two triples gave her a new career-high. The team also got some help courtesy of Makinze Massey, who scored two runs and stole three bases while going 1-for-2.
East Nicolaus was getting hits left and right and finished the game having posted a batting average of .536. The team's really been improving in that area: they've now improved their batting average total in three consecutive contests.
Meanwhile, Dixon made easy work of Woodland on Monday and carried off a 19-2 win.
Like East Nicolaus, Dixon also got a great game from a two-way player: Dakota Gaball. On the mound, she pitched five innings while giving up just two earned runs off six hits. Gaball was also big at the plate, scoring a run while going 2-for-3.
In other batting news, the team relied heavily on Emily Morris, who went 3-for-5 with one home run, six RBI, and three runs. Olivia Gomez was another key player, scoring two runs and stealing two bases while going 3-for-5.
Dixon is on a roll lately: they've won five of their last six matches. That's provided a nice bump to their 9-3 record this season. The team dominated over that stretch too, winning by an average of 10.6 runs. As for East Nicolaus, with the victory, they broke their three-game losing streak and moved their record to 11-4.
East Nicolaus beat Dixon 5-2 in their previous meeting back in March of 2024. Do the Spartans have another victory up their sleeve, or will the Rams turn the tables on them? We'll have the answer soon enough.
