Clawson is 9-1 against Hazel Park since April of 2016 and they'll have a chance to extend that dominance on Tuesday. The Trojans will be playing at home against the Vikings at 4:30 p.m. Both squads will be entering this one on the heels of a big victory.
Clawson came out on top against Mott on Friday thanks in part to the team's impressive five-run fourth inning. The Trojans put the hurt on the Marauders with a sharp 10-1 victory. The win was familiar territory for the Trojans, who have now won seven games in a row.

Elliott Groves made a big impact while hitting and pitching. He didn't allow a single earned run and allowed only one hit while striking out ten over four innings pitched. Those ten strikeouts gave him a new career-high. He was also big at the plate, going 2-for-3 with one double and one RBI.
In other batting news, the team relied heavily on Ezra Lock, who got on base in two of his three plate appearances with two stolen bases, two runs, and one RBI. He is becoming a predictor of Clawson's success: when he posts at least two runs the team is undefeated (and 5-6 when he doesn't). Another player making a difference was Joey Campana, who went 2-for-3 with one stolen base, one run, and one RBI.
Clawson always had someone on base and finished the game having posted an OBP of .577. They easily outclassed their opponents in that department as Mott only posted an OBP of .333.
Meanwhile, Hazel Park hadn't done well against Ferndale recently (they were 1-8 in their previous nine matchups), but they didn't let the past get in their way on Saturday. The Vikings blew past the Eagles 23-8. That's two games straight that the Vikings have won by exactly 15 runs.
Temar Small was incredible, going a perfect 2-for-2 with four stolen bases, three runs, and four RBI. Thomas Barkle was another key player, going a perfect 1-for-1 with three stolen bases, two runs, and one RBI.
Clawson's victory bumped their record up to 8-6. As for Hazel Park, their win bumped their record up to 9-5.
Tuesday's matchup might come down to which pitcher can control the ball better. Clawson has hit smart this season, having averaged an OBP of .432. However, it's not like Hazel Park struggles in that department as they've averaged .500. With both teams so capable at the plate, fans should be ready for an impressive hitting performance.
Everything went Clawson's way against Hazel Park when the teams last played back in May of 2025, as Clawson made off with a 12-4 victory. Will the Trojans repeat their success, or do the Vikings have a new game plan this time around? We'll find out soon enough.
