The Navajo Prep Eagles stacked a tenth blowout win onto their ever-increasing hoard on Tuesday. They claimed a resounding 88-16 win over Crownpoint on the road. Winning may never get old, but Navajo Prep sure is getting used to it with their sixth in a row.
Leading Navajo Prep to victory were Breygen Benally and Jude Thomas. Benally scored 21 points along with five rebounds and three steals, while Thomas almost dropped a double-double on 18 points and nine assists. As a matter of fact, that's the most points Benally has scored all season. Xavier Nez was another key contributor, scoring 16 points along with six rebounds and two steals.
Navajo Prep is on a roll lately: they've won seven of their last eight contests, which provided a nice bump to their 12-4 record this season. As for Crownpoint, they are on a six-game losing streak that has dropped them down to 2-16.
Navajo Prep will be playing at home against the Skyhawks at 7:00 p.m. on Thursday. Hopefully Newcomb focused on turnovers this week since the team gave up 16 on Tuesday. As for Crownpoint, they will head out on the road to face off against the Hawks at 7:00 p.m. on Thursday. Thoreau is out to stop a six-game streak of losses at home.
