Volleyball Recap: Clarkston Gets the Win

Clarkston won the last time they faced Stone Mountain and things went their way on Thursday too. The Angoras walked away with a 2-0 win over the Pirates. The victory made it back-to-back wins for the Angoras.

Not only was the match a shutout, it was a big one: Clarkston took both sets by at least 14 points. The match finished with set scores of 25-9, 25-11.

Alaina Harris paced Clarkston's offense, picking up three kills. Harris got some help from Suily Par and her 12 assists. Par was also solid from the service line: she led the team with seven aces.

Clarkston's victory bumped their record up to 11-22. As for Stone Mountain, they are on a three-game losing streak that has dropped them down to 1-13.

Clarkston and Stone Mountain could both be facing uphill battles in their next games considering their disadvantage in the MaxPreps Georgia Rankings. The Angoras (ranked 316th) will meet St. Pius X Catholic (ranked 62nd) at 5:30 p.m. on Tuesday. Meanwhile, Stone Mountain will take on Chamblee at 5:30 p.m. on Monday with a big rank disadvantage (445 vs. 158).
