Meanwhile, even if it wasn't a dominant performance, Elkhorn beat Crete 58-53 on Saturday.
Elkhorn found their leader in sophomore Peter Howard, who went 6 of 10 on his way to 22 points. As a matter of fact, that's the most points Howard has scored all season. Grady Friedrichsen was another key player, putting up eight points in addition to five boards and four blocks.
Elkhorn's win bumped their record up to 6-7. As for Bennington, their loss dropped their record down to 9-6.
Keep an eye on the arc in Friday's game: Bennington has been dynamite from deep this season, having made 37.5% of their threes per game. It's a different story for Elkhorn, though, as they've only made 29.6% of their three-pointers this season. Given Bennington's sizable advantage in that area, Elkhorn will need to find a way to close that gap.
