Spotsylvania has been on the road for three straight, but on Friday they'll finally head home. The Spotsylvania Knights and the Culpeper County Blue Devils will face off at 6:30 p.m. on December 15th without much rest after finishing up games yesterday. Both teams took a loss in their last game, so they'll have plenty of motivation to get the 'W'.
Spotsylvania struggled with assists on Tuesday (Chancellor had 14 more) and sadly the final score reflected it. Spotsylvania was the victim of a rough 62-37 defeat at the hands of Chancellor. The result shouldn't come as a shock considering that's the fewest points Spotsylvania has scored all season.
Despite the defeat, Spotsylvania had strong showings from KELLY ROSS, who scored 13 points along with nine rebounds, and SAVANNAH TEEL, who scored ten points along with five rebounds. ROSS also grabbed two steals for the first time this season.
Meanwhile, Culpeper County pushed their score all the way to 56 on Wednesday, but even that wasn't enough to win. They fell just short of Fauquier by a score of 58-56.
Spotsylvania's loss dropped their record down to 4-4. As for Culpeper County, they have fallen quite a ways from their 19-6 record last season and are now at 2-5.
Spotsylvania took a serious blow against Culpeper County in their previous meeting back in January, falling 84-23. The game was all but decided by halftime, at which point Spotsylvania was down 36-7.
