The Sioux City East Black Raiders stacked a tenth blowout win onto their ever-increasing hoard on Friday. They claimed a resounding 78-18 win over Jefferson at home. The win was familiar territory for Sioux City East who now have five in a row.
Brandi Jarmon and Taryn Gant certainly did their best on Friday to try and avoid the loss. Jarmon scored seven points, while Gant scored four points along with five rebounds and two blocks. That's the first time this season that Gant posted two or more blocks.
Sioux City East's victory was their fifth straight at home, which pushed their record up to 12-5. Those victories were due in large part to their offensive dominance across that stretch, as they averaged 71.0 points per game. As for Jefferson, they are on a six-game losing streak that has dropped them down to 1-13.
Sioux City East will head out on the road to take on Lincoln at 5:30 p.m. on Friday. Lincoln will have to bring their A-game into this one, as they are staring down a pretty big deficit in the MaxPreps Iowa Rankings (they are ranked 132nd, while Sioux City East is ranked 42nd). As for Jefferson, they will be playing at home against Shenandoah at 5:30 p.m. on Monday.
