Basketball Recap: Keystone Gets the Win

San Juan Diego Catholic typically has all the answers at home, but on Tuesday Keystone proved too difficult a challenge. In a tight match that could have gone either way, they made off with a 69-68 win over the San Juan Diego Catholic Saints. The victory made it back-to-back wins for the Cobras.

Several Saints players turned in solid performances despite ultimately coming up short. Perhaps the best among those players was Mateo Aceves, who went 8 of 20 on his way to 21 points and five rebounds. The game was Aceves' third in a row with at least ten points. The team also got some help courtesy of Diego Sanchez, who dropped a double-double on 14 points and 16 boards.

Keystone now has a winning record of 2-1. As for San Juan Diego Catholic, their defeat ended a 17-game streak of wins at home dating back to last season and dropped them to 13-5.

Coincidentally, both will both be playing Live Oak Classical the next time they take the court. San Juan Diego Catholic will host Live Oak Classical at 7:30 p.m. on Friday, while Keystone will head out to face them at 6:00 p.m. on Tuesday.
