Basketball Recap: Mid-Missouri HomeSchool Takes a Loss

If Mid-Missouri HomeSchool was riding high fresh off their 48-24 takedown of Sunnydale Academy on Tuesday, their most recent game may have dampened their spirits a bit. The Mavericks fell 46-37 to the Kansas City East Christian Academy Lions on Saturday. The Mavericks have struggled against the Lions recently, as the game was their fifth consecutive lost matchup.

Despite the loss, Mid-Missouri HomeSchool saw an underclassman step up: sophomore Savannah Sinnett dropped a double-double with 16 points and 14 boards. Sinnett has been hot recently, having posted nine or more rebounds the last three times she's played. Ella Dorr was another key player, putting up four points and five boards.

Mid-Missouri HomeSchool's defeat dropped their record down to 3-5. As for Kansas City East Christian Academy, the victory made it two in a row for them and bumps their season record up to 3-1.

Kansas City East Christian Academy will have some time to savor their win since their next game is a little ways off: they'll take on Heritage Christian Academy at 6:00 p.m. on December 16. Mid-Missouri HomeSchool will be paying especially close attention to the Lions' game: after the Lions face off against Manhattan HomeSchool CHIEF, they'll take on Mid-Missouri HomeSchool again at 5:00 p.m. on March 6, 2026.
