The Midway/Minto Mustangs scored the most points they've had all season to find success on Friday. They simply couldn't be stopped as they easily beat St. John 81-52 at home. That looming 81-52 mark stands out as the most commanding margin for Midway/Minto yet this season.
St. John's loss came despite strong showings from Simon LaRocque and Cashmyn Belgarde. LaRocque scored ten points along with nine rebounds and four blocks, while Belgarde scored 12 points along with six rebounds. The team also got some help courtesy of Aston Parisien, who scored six points.
The win was the third in a row for Midway/Minto, bringing their record for this year to 9-6. Those victories were due in large part to their offensive dominance across that stretch, as they averaged 72.3 points per game. As for St. John, they are on a four-game losing streak that has dropped them down to 3-12.
Midway/Minto will head out on the road to face off against Langdon/Edmore/Munich at 7:30 p.m. on Tuesday. The matchup should be an exciting one, as these teams are ranked near one another in North Dakota (Langdon/Edmore/Munich is ranked 65th, while Midway/Minto is ranked 51st). As for St. John, they will be playing at home against North Border co-op [Walhalla/Pembina] at 5:00 p.m. on Tuesday.
