Portland was not able to break out of their rough patch  on Saturday as the team picked up their fourth straight  defeat. They fell just short of the Charlotte Orioles by a score of  2-1. The Raiders were given a dose of their own medicine in this game as the Orioles apparently hadn't forgotten their  loss the last time these teams played  on October 1st.
 In a back-and-forth that saw neither team win consecutive sets, Portland sadly dropped the once that decided the match. Once all was said and done, the final score wound up at 25-23, 15-25,  15-13.
  Mckenna Boykin paced Portland's offense, picking up eight kills. Boykin got some help from 
 Allie Sutberry and her nine assists. 
 Anastasia Seidelman controlled things from the service line, finishing with three aces.
 Portland now  has a losing record at 18-19-5. As for Charlotte,  the  victory snapped their losing streak at 17 games  and leaves them with a 2-24-2 record.
 Portland does not have any more games scheduled as of now. As for Charlotte, they will face off against Potterville at 6:00  p.m.  on Tuesday. Charlotte is out to stop a four-game streak of losses at home.
