The Carson City-Crystal Eagles are on the road again on Wednesday and plays the Sacred Heart Academy Irish at 7:00 p.m. on February 14th. Both teams come into the matchup bolstered by wins in their previous matches.
Carson City-Crystal scored the most points they've had all season to find success on Friday. They came out on top in a nail-biter against Ashley and snuck past 43-41. Perhaps unsurprisinly given the team's high-flying offense, the game also marked the team's biggest win of the season.
Meanwhile, Sacred Heart Academy strolled past Montabella with points to spare on Friday, taking the game 33-18. Given Sacred Heart Academy's advantage in MaxPreps' Michigan basketball rankings (they are ranked 126th, while Montabella is ranked 430th), the result wasn't entirely unexpected.
Carson City-Crystal's win ended a eight-game drought on the road dating back to last season and puts them at 1-14. As for Sacred Heart Academy, their win was their tenth straight at home dating back to last season, which pushed their record up to 15-2.
Carson City-Crystal was dealt a bruising 76-14 loss at the hands of Sacred Heart Academy when the teams last played back in January. Can Carson City-Crystal avenge their defeat or is history doomed to repeat itself? We'll find out soon enough.
