Softball Recap: Santa Fe Has No Trouble Against Whittier

Santa Fe had to skate by with only a one-run margin when they last took the field, which might have inspired the 12-run drubbing they dealt Whittier on Thursday. The Santa Fe Chiefs blew past the Whittier Cardinals 20-8. With that victory, the Chiefs brought their scoring average up to 6.5 runs per game.

Isabella Offield was incredible, scoring five runs and stealing Two bases. while going 4-for-5. Jordyn Bertram was another key player, going 2-for-5 with four RBI and one double.

Santa Fe hit smart and finished the game with only two strikeouts. That strong performance was nothing new for the team: they've now struck out at most four strikeouts in eight consecutive matchups.

Santa Fe now has a winning record of 6-5. As for Whittier, their defeat was their fourth straight at home, which dropped their record down to 0-9.

Coming up, Santa Fe will welcome California at 3:15 p.m. on Wednesday. As for Whittier, they will take on Bellflower in a tournament on Saturday.
