Basketball Recap: Freeman Extends Home Winning Streak to Ten

Freeman extended their home winning streak to ten games dating back to last season thanks to a huge performance from David Walter. The Freeman Flyers blew past the Kimball/White Lake Wildkats 73-24 on Friday which was due in part to Walter, who went 8-for-11 on his way to 19 points and six rebounds. His evening made it ten games in a row in which he has scored at least 17 points.

The team also got some help courtesy of Caden Waltner, who posted five points. Those five points gave him a new career-high.

Freeman has been performing incredibly well recently as they've won eight of their last nine matchups. That's provided a nice bump to their 16-4 record this season. Those victories came thanks in part to their offensive performance across that stretch, as they averaged 67.0 points over those games. Kimball/White Lake has traveled a rocky road recently having lost seven of their last eight games. That's put a noticeable dent in their 4-16 record this season.

Freeman and Kimball/White Lake are set to take part in some playoff action in their next matches. Freeman will challenge Gayville-Volin at 7:00 p.m. on Tuesday. One thing working in Freeman's favor is that they have posted at least 55 points in their last 15 contests. As for Kimball/White Lake, they will head out on the road to challenge Lower Brule at 7:00 p.m. on Tuesday. Kimball/White Lake will be up against Lower Brule's rather soft defense (which has allowed 55.65 points per match), so fans could be in store for a big offensive performance.
