After having lost a blowout in their previous game against Saco/Whitewater/Hinsdale, the Turner Tornadoes were happy to have found some success on Friday. They came out on top against Box Elder by a score of 48-35. For Turner, this counts as revenge for the 46-38 loss the Bears walked away with the last time they faced one another back in January.
Martay Stiffarm-rosette and Ariel Gopher certainly did their best on Friday to avoid the loss. Stiffarm-rosette scored 12 points along with four steals, while Gopher almost dropped a double-double on 17 points and nine rebounds. That was a full 34.3% of Box Elder's points, marking the fifth time in a row she's earned more than a third of the team's points. The team also got some help courtesy of Shareece Raining Bird, who scored four points along with eight rebounds.
Turner's win bumped their record up to 3-8. As for Box Elder, their defeat dropped their record down to 6-9.
