Georgetown Day has gone 7-1 against National Cathedral recently and they'll look to pad the win column further on Thursday. The Mighty Hoppers will challenge National Cathedral at 5:30 p.m. Georgetown Day will be looking to extend their current nine-game winning streak.
Georgetown Day is coming in fresh off a high-stakes matchup with another highly-ranked state team: Stone Ridge School of the Sacred Heart, who was ranked 21st in their home state at the time (Georgetown Day was ranked first). The Mighty Hoppers put the hurt on the Gators with a sharp 3-0 victory on Monday.
Once all was said and done, the final score wound up at 25-13, 25-14, 25-18.

Georgetown Day's success was spearheaded by the efforts of Caycee Chhum, who had three digs and two aces, and Ella Higday, who had eight digs and three aces. Chhum is also on a roll when it comes to assists, as she's now posted 17 or more in each of the last 17 games she's played dating back to last season.
Meanwhile, after a string of five wins, National Cathedral's good fortune finally ran out on Thursday. They fell just short of Episcopal by a score of 3-2. While National Cathedral didn't get the win, they did start the game off strong, beating Episcopal 25-13 in the first set.
National Cathedral actually scored more points across those five sets (111-107), but sadly they still had to settle for second. The final score came out to 13-25, 25-21, 26-28, 28-26, 15-11.
Georgetown Day will have to keep a close watch on Dina Leigh and Kennedy Williams, a pair of players who had a big impact on National Cathedral's prior game. Leigh had 13 assists and six digs, while Williams had 27 kills, 16 digs, five aces, and two blocks.
Georgetown Day's win bumped their record up to 14-1. As for National Cathedral, their loss dropped their record down to 15-3-1.
