Two dominant backs in Hunter Luther and Brycen Kula are getting ready to go toe-to-toe. The Howells-Dodge Jaguars will welcome the Osceola Bulldogs at 7:00 p.m. on Friday. Howells-Dodge is currently enjoying a perfect season and no doubt wants to keep things rolling.
Howells-Dodge is headed in fresh off scoring the most points they have all season. They really took it to Riverside for the full four quarters, racking up a 64-6 victory. The matchup was pretty much decided by the half, when the score had already reached 52-0.
Howells-Dodge found their leader in sophomore Luther, who rushed for 203 yards and four scores on only 12 carries. Blane Stutzman was another key player, rushing for 60 yards and one TD on only six carries.
Howells-Dodge was unstoppable on the ground and finished the game with 412 rushing yards. That's the most rushing yards they've posted since back in September of 2024.

Meanwhile, Osceola played a tough game on Friday in which they were outscored in every quarter. They were dealt a 56-14 loss at the hands of Archangels Catholic. The defeat continues a trend for the Bulldogs in their meetings with the Defenders: they've now lost four in a row.
Howells-Dodge's win bumped their record up to 6-0. As for Osceola, their loss was their first in the district, dropping their district record down to 2-1 and their overall record down to 3-3.
Friday's contest might be decided on the ground. Howells-Dodge has been unstoppable on the ground this season, having averaged 271 rushing yards per game. However, it's not like Osceola struggles in that department as they've been averaging 244.3 rushing yards. There's a good chance Friday's matchup turns into a tough fight on the ground.
Everything came up roses for Howells-Dodge against Osceola in their previous matchup back in October of 2024, as the squad secured a 50-6 victory. In that game, the Jaguars amassed a halftime lead of 28-6, an impressive feat they'll look to repeat on Friday.
