Weiss' pitching crew heads into the matchup hoping to repeat the dominance they displayed on Friday. They came out on top against East View by a score of 5-0.
Jordynn Booe made a big impact no matter where she played. She looked comfortable on the mound, tossing two innings while giving up no earned runs or hits. Booe was also big at the plate, going 2-for-3 with one double.
In other batting news, Weiss let Colbie Miske and Bella Gomez run wild. Miske went 1-for-3 with one triple, two RBI, and one run, while Gomez went 3-for-4 with one run, one double, and one RBI. That's the most hits Gomez has posted since back in May of 2025.
Weiss hit smart and finished the game with only two strikeouts. The team has now struck out at least five batters every time they've taken the field this season.
The home team had come away the winner the last six times Elgin and Hendrickson had met, but sadly for the fans who attended this one that wasn't the case. The Wildcats lost 14-2 to the Hawks on Friday. The Wildcats haven't had much luck with the Hawks recently, as the team has come up short the last three times they've met.
Elgin saw six different players step up and record at least one hit. One of them was Trinity Martinez, who went 1-for-2 with one RBI.
Weiss' win bumped their record up to 21-3-2. As for Elgin, their loss dropped their record down to 6-16-1.
Elgin's pitching crew has a crucial task ahead of them: Weiss has been making plenty of contact this season, having averaged 9.8 hits per game. It's a different story for Elgin, though, as they've been averaging 9.2 hits. Given Weiss' sizable advantage in that area, the Wildcats will need to find a way to close that gap.
