The Durant Lions's three-game losing streak came to an end on Thursday. They skirted past Will Rogers College 53-50. The victory was just what Durant needed coming off of a 57-36 loss in their prior game.
Will Rogers College lost despite a true team effort on the offense, the best among them being Terence Buckley, who scored 14 points. Buckley scored a full 28% of Will Rogers College's points, the third time in a row he's earned more than a third of the team's points. The team also got some help courtesy of Cyrus Pete, who scored ten points.
Even though they lost, Will Rogers College were smashing the offensive glass and finished the game with 13 offensive rebounds. That's the most offensive rebounds they've managed all season.
Durant's win bumped their record up to 2-6. As for Will Rogers College, they are on a four-game losing streak that has dropped them down to 1-7.
Durant will head out on the road to face off against Holland Hall at 7:00 p.m. on Tuesday. Holland Hall presents a significant challenge as they come into the match much higher ranked than Durant in Oklahoma (Holland Hall is ranked 19th, while Durant is ranked 362nd). Will Rogers College won't have much time to rest: their next match is against Southeast at 12:00 p.m. on January 5th.
