After flying high against Varsity Opponent last Thursday, the Ridge Christian Academy Paladins came back down to earth. Ridge Christian Academy was beaten by Riverpointe Christian Academy 87-14 on Tuesday. Having soared to a lofty 67 points in the game before, Ridge Christian Academy couldn't push the score so high this time.
Riverpointe Christian Academy's win was the result of several impressive offensive performances. One of the most notable came from Kevin Dukes Jr, who scored 27 points along with eight assists and three steals. That's the first time this season that Dukes Jr posted eight or more assists. Another player making a difference was Terry Truesdale Jr, who dropped a double-double on 12 points and 11 steals.
Ridge Christian Academy has been struggling recently, as they've lost three of their last four matchups, which put a noticeable dent in their 3-4 record this season. As for Riverpointe Christian Academy, the win (which was their fifth in a row) raised their record to 13-7.
Both teams will have to hit the road in their upcoming games. Ridge Christian Academy will challenge Faith Christian at 7:00 p.m. on Thursday. As for Riverpointe Christian Academy, they will head out on the road to take on Charleston Collegiate at 6:00 p.m. on Monday.
