The Sound Christian Lions fought the good fight in their overtime contest against the Muckleshoot Tribal Kings on Thursday but wound up with a less-than-desirable result. They fell 61-54 to the Kings. Sound Christian has struggled against Muckleshoot Tribal recently, as their matchup on Thursday was their third consecutive lost matchup.
Sound Christian's loss came despite a true team effort from the offense, with many players turning in solid performances. Perhaps the best among them was AJ Alexeev, who dropped a double-double on 18 points and 13 rebounds. Alexeev has been hot recently, having posted 16 or more points the last 17 times he's played. Kona Resseau was another key contributor, scoring 15 points.
Sound Christian's defeat ended a four-game streak of away wins and brought them to 15-6. As for Muckleshoot Tribal, the win was the ninth in a row for them, bringing their record for this year to 18-4.
Both teams are looking forward to the support of their home crowds in their upcoming games. Sound Christian will take on Tulalip Heritage at 7:00 p.m. on Tuesday. Hopefully Sound Christian focused on turnovers this week since the team gave up eight on Thursday. As for Muckleshoot Tribal, they will stay at home for another game and welcome Mount Vernon Christian at 7:00 p.m. on February 13th. Muckleshoot Tribal has been dominant on offense recently, as they've racked up an incredible 221 points over their last three contests.
