Priory is 8-2 against Harker since January of 2018, and they'll have a chance to extend that success on Friday. The Priory Panthers will be playing in front of their home fans against the Harker Eagles at 6:30 p.m. Keep an eye on the score for this one: the pair posted some lofty point totals in their previous games.
While it was all tied up 33-33 at halftime, Priory was not quite Menlo School's equal in the second half on Tuesday. Priory took a 69-61 hit to the loss column at the hands of Menlo School. While losing is never fun, Priory can't take it too hard given the team's big disadvantage in MaxPreps' California basketball rankings (they are ranked 640th, while Menlo School is ranked 271st).
Despite their loss, Priory saw several players rise to the challenge and make noteworthy plays. Balasz Nyikos, who scored 16 points, was perhaps the best of all. Teddy Xanthopoulos was another key contributor, scoring 11 points.
Meanwhile, Harker also suffered a loss in their last game, but this one to Eastside College Prep by a score of 65-58. Harker has now taken an 'L' in back-to-back games.
Priory's defeat dropped their record down to 8-10. As for Harker, they have not been sharp recently, as they've lost 11 of their last 12 matches, which put a noticeable dent in their 5-13 record this season.
Everything came up roses for Priory against Harker when the teams last played back in January of 2023 as the squad secured a 75-48 victory. With Priory ahead 47-15 at the half, the match was all but over already.
