Soccer Recap: Mooreville Picks Up Third Consecutive Win

While Mooreville didn't have the best season last year (they finished 5-15), it's starting to look like those struggles are a thing of the past. Their defense stepped up to hand the Nettleton Tigers a 7-0 shutout on Monday. The result was nothing new for Mooreville, who have now won four matchups by six goals or more so far this season.

Audrey Downs and Kinsley Harris scored all seven of Mooreville's goals, bringing their combined season tally to 20 goals.

The win (which was Mooreville's third in a row) raised their record to 4-1. Those victories came thanks in part to their offensive performance across that stretch, as they scored 24 goals over those three contests. As for Nettleton, their loss dropped their record down to 0-4.

Coming up, Mooreville will look to defend their home pitch on Tuesday against New Albany at 5:00 p.m. Mooreville will need to watch out since New Albany have now posted at least four goals in their last three matches. As for Nettleton, they will head out to face off against Mississippi School for Mathematics & Science at 5:30 p.m. on Tuesday. The matchup will give Nettleton their first taste of in-conference action this season.
