The South Central Falcons will head out to square off against the Wakefield Wolverines at 4:00 p.m. on Friday. Keep an eye on the score for this one: the two teams posted some lofty run totals in their previous games.
Wakefield will be up against a hot South Central team: the squad just extended their winning streak to four. Everything went South Central's way against Havelock on Thursday as South Central made off with a 16-5 win. The Falcons not only won on Thursday, but they posted their biggest win since May 2, 2024.

Haven Roebuck and Kamdyn Haislip did most of the damage at the plate: Roebuck went 2-for-4 with one home run, four RBI, and two runs, while Haislip scored three runs while going 4-for-4. The dominant performance gave Haislip a new career-high in hits. The team also got some help courtesy of Blaire Adee, who scored three runs while going 1-for-3.
South Central always had someone on base and finished the game having posted an OBP of .606. That's the best OBP they've posted all season.
Meanwhile, winning is always nice, but doing so behind a season-high score is even better (just ask Wakefield). They blew past Wake Prep Academy 11-3 on Tuesday.
Aniela Piscorik spent all seven innings on the mound, and it's clear why: she surrendered just two earned (and one unearned) runs on five hits and racked up six Ks.
On the hitting side, the team relied heavily on Brianna Riehle, who scored three runs and stole a base while going 3-for-4. She is on a roll when it comes to stolen bases, as she's now snagged at least one in each of the last three games she's played. Ella Dew also deserves some recognition as she got her first hits of the season.
South Central's victory was their fourth straight at home, which pushed their record up to 4-0. The wins came thanks in part to their hitting performance across that stretch, as they averaged 9.5 runs over those games. As for Wakefield, their record is now 4-1.
Wakefield's pitching crew has a crucial task ahead of them: South Central has hit smart this season, having averaged an OBP of .462. It's a different story for Wakefield, though, as they've only averaged .360. Will they be able to contain South Central's hitters?
South Central came up short against Wakefield when the teams last played back in March of 2024, falling 5-0. Can South Central avenge their defeat or is history doomed to repeat itself? We'll find out soon enough.
