Basketball Game Preview: Grantsville Cowboys vs. Union Cougars

Grantsville has gone 7-2 against Union recently and they'll look to pad the win column further on Thursday. The Grantsville Cowboys will take on the Union Cougars at 7:00 p.m. Grantsville is currently enjoying a perfect season and no doubt wants to keep things rolling.

Last Tuesday, Grantsville really took it to Ogden for the full four quarters, racking up a 75-29 victory. The Cowboys have made a habit of sweeping their opponents off the court, having now won 11 matchups by 22 points or more this season.

Grantsville's win was the result of several impressive offensive performances. One of the most notable came from Kodee Williams, who went 6 of 9 on her way to 13 points along with eight boards and five assists. That's the most rebounds Williams has posted since back in November of 2024. Baylee Lowder was another key player, going 9 for 14 en route to 21 points.

Grantsville smashed the offensive glass and finished the game with 21 offensive rebounds. That strong performance was nothing new for the team: they've now pulled down at least ten offensive boards in 12 consecutive games.

Meanwhile, it was a proper cat-fight when Union faced off against South Summit on Tuesday. Union was just a bucket shy of victory and fell 48-47 to South Summit.

Union's defeat dropped their record down to 6-10. As for Grantsville, their win was their 18th straight at home dating back to last season, which pushed their record up to 17-0.

Everything came up roses for Grantsville against Union in their previous meeting on January 7th, as the team secured a 65-27 victory. In that contest, Grantsville amassed a halftime lead of 49-15, an impressive feat they'll look to repeat on Thursday.
