Bayou Academy entered their tilt with Starkville Academy on Friday with two consecutive wins but they'll enter their next game with three. They came out on top against the Starkville Academy Volunteers by a score of 40-33. This was payback for the Colts, who suffered a 47-45 loss the last time these two teams met.

Despite the defeat, Starkville Academy saw an underclassman step up: sophomore Kate Couvillion posted 18 points. The team also got some help courtesy of Sara Stokes McReynolds, who had seven points.

Bayou Academy's victory bumped their record up to 4-8. As for Starkville Academy, their loss dropped their record down to 9-6.

Bayou Academy wasted no time getting back out on the court and has already played their next matchup, a 52-41 defeat against Madison-Ridgeland Academy on the 4th. As for Starkville Academy, they also didn't take long to hit the court again: they've already played their next contest, a 35-26 win against Rossville Christian Academy on the 7th.
