Softball Recap: Tuesday's Victory Is Marksville's Third in Last Four Outings

Marksville's game on Monday was a loss, but they didn't let that memory haunt them on Tuesday. They never let the West Feliciana Saints get on the board and left with a 7-0 victory. The Tigers might be getting used to big wins seeing as the team has won seven matches by seven runs or more this season.

Katie Lachney made a big impact no matter where she played. She looked comfortable on the mound, not allowing a single earned run and allowed only two hits while striking out 14 over 6.2 innings pitched. Lachney was also big at the plate, going a perfect 3-for-3 with two doubles, one stolen base, and one RBI. That's the most doubles she has posted since back in February.

In other batting news, Kristen Lachney was incredible, scoring two runs while getting on base in all four of her plate appearances. Another player making a difference was Myleigh Desselle, who scored a run while going 1-for-4.

Marksville is on a roll lately: they've won three of their last four games. That's provided a nice bump to their 10-8 record this season. Those wins came thanks in part to their hitting performance across that stretch, as they averaged 8.8 runs over those games. As for West Feliciana, their defeat ended a three-game streak of away wins and brought them to 7-9.

Both teams are looking forward to the support of their home crowds in their upcoming games. Marksville will welcome Avoyelles at 5:00 p.m. on Thursday. As for West Feliciana, they will look to defend their home field on Thursday against Parkview Baptist at 5:00 p.m.
