The Vacaville Christian Falcons suffered their biggest loss since November 30, 2023 on Friday. They were beaten by Rio Vista 76-44. Vacaville Christian was in a tough position after the first half, with the score already sitting at 52-19.
When it comes to explaining why Vacaville Christian lost, one person who can't be blamed is Brian Laxamana. Despite the final result, he dropped a double-double on 17 points and 14 rebounds. Laxamana has been hot recently, having posted two or more blocks the last three times he's played. Another player making a difference was Tai Douglas, who scored 12 points.
It was another big night for Ashlynd Rhett, who shot 6-for-12 from deep and dropped a double-double on 34 points and ten rebounds for Rio Vista. Rhett hasn't dropped below two steals for 12 straight games. The team also got some help courtesy of Joseph Flaz, who dropped a double-double on 14 points and ten rebounds.
Vacaville Christian bumped their record down to 5-9 with that defeat, which was their fourth straight on the road. As for Rio Vista, the victory was the fifth in a row for them, bringing their record for this year to 11-7.
