The Mater Brighton Lakes Academy Broncos's road trip will continue as they head out to face New Dimensions at 6:30 p.m. on January 18th. New Dimensions took a loss in their last game and will be looking to turn the tables on Mater Brighton Lakes Academy, who comes in off a win.
After only 18 points in their last contest, Mater Brighton Lakes Academy made sure to put some points up on the board against Roosevelt Academy on Tuesday. Mater Brighton Lakes Academy blew past Roosevelt Academy 65-9 on the road. The game was pretty much decided by the half, when the score had already reached 40-5.
Mater Brighton Lakes Academy relied on the efforts of Jeremiah Pierre- louis, who scored 15 points, and Duriel Muehlbauer, who scored 19 points. The team also got some help courtesy of Jonathan Burgos, who scored eight points.
Meanwhile, after a string of three wins, New Dimensions' good fortune finally ran out on Tuesday. They had to suffer through a rough 81-44 loss at the hands of Poinciana. While losing is never fun, New Dimensions can't take it too hard given the team's big disadvantage in MaxPreps' Florida basketball rankings (they are ranked 404th, while Poinciana is ranked 133rd).
Mater Brighton Lakes Academy's victory bumped their record up to 5-7. As for New Dimensions, their loss dropped their record down to 7-5.
Mater Brighton Lakes Academy took a serious blow against New Dimensions when the teams last played back in November of 2021, falling 62-10. Can Mater Brighton Lakes Academy avenge their defeat or is history doomed to repeat itself? We'll find out soon enough.
