Softball Recap: Assumption Makes It Eight in a Row on the Road

Assumption had already won three in a row (a stretch where they outscored their opponents by an average of 6 runs) and they went ahead and made it four on Saturday. They were the clear victors by an 11-1 margin over the Belle Chasse Cardinals. The result was nothing new for the Mustangs, who have now won 14 matches by six runs or more so far this season.

Assumption's win was their eighth straight on the road, which pushed their record up to 22-4. Those road victories came thanks in part to their pitching effort, having only surrendered 2.9 runs on average over those games. As for Belle Chasse, their defeat ended a six-game streak of wins at home and dropped them to 10-10.

Both teams will have to hit the road in their upcoming games. Assumption will challenge Kaplan at 5:30 p.m. on Monday. As for Belle Chasse, they will take on Ascension Catholic at 5:00 p.m. on Tuesday.
