Make it five blowout wins for the Jefferson Christian Academy Cardinals this season. They claimed a resounding 68-36 win over North Cross at home. Given Jefferson Christian Academy's advantage in MaxPreps' Virginia basketball rankings (they are ranked 60th, while the Raiders are ranked 337th), the result on Tuesday wasn't entirely unexpected.
Despite the loss, North Cross still got an impressive performance from Cate Overton, who scored nine points along with six rebounds. The team also got some help courtesy of Dajah Garrison, who scored six points along with five rebounds and two steals.
Jefferson Christian Academy pushed their record up to 7-2 with that win, which was their 14th straight at home dating back to last season. As for North Cross, they have traveled a rocky road recently having lost three of their last four matches, which put a noticeable dent in their 4-11 record this season.
Both teams will have to hit the road in their upcoming games. Jefferson Christian Academy will take on the Hawks at 11:00 a.m. on Saturday. As for North Cross, they will head out on the road to square off against the Chiefs at 4:30 p.m. on Friday.
