Mt. Pleasant has enjoyed a two-game homestand but will soon have to dust off their road jerseys. They will challenge The Barrington Eagles at 6:15 p.m. on Friday.
Last Saturday, Mt. Pleasant faced Cumberland in a battle between two of the state's top teams. Mt. Pleasant fell 28-16 to Cumberland.
Although Mt. Pleasant took the loss, they still got scores from Stylez Negron and Cassidy Negron.
Meanwhile, Barrington can now show off seven landslide victories after their most recent game on Saturday. Everything went their way against Woonsocket as Barrington made off with a 42-21 win. Barrington pushed the score to 35-7 by the end of the third, a deficit Woonsocket cut but never quite recovered from.
Cumberland's win bumped their season record to 8-0 while Mt. Pleasant's defeat dropped theirs to 5-3.
Things could have been worse for Mt. Pleasant, but things could have been a whole lot better as they took a 35-20 loss to Barrington in their previous matchup back in November of 2022. Can Mt. Pleasant avenge their loss or is history doomed to repeat itself? We'll find out soon enough.
