The Union County Fightin' Tigers had to hit the road for their first game and sadly it wasn't the result they were hoping for. They fell 66-54 to Keystone Heights on Friday. Union County has not had much luck with Keystone Heights recently, as the team's come up short the last two times they've met.
Union County lost despite a true team effort on the offense, the best among them being Gavin Jenkins, who scored 20 points. Cam Paytee was another key contributor, scoring 16 points.
Among those leading the charge was Gregory Pelham, who scored 19 points. Another player making a difference was Bryce Hollingsworth, who scored 12 points.
Union County's defeat dropped their record down to 0-1. As for Keystone Heights, their win bumped their record up to 1-2.
Both teams will have to hit the road in their upcoming games. Union County will square off against Baldwin at 6:30 p.m. on Tuesday. Baldwin is still on the hunt for that elusive first 'W'. As for Keystone Heights, they will head out on the road to face off against Old Plank Christian Academy at 6:00 p.m. on Monday.
