Volleyball Recap: Deland Picks Up Third Consecutive Victory

DeLand had already won two in a row and they went ahead and made it three on Tuesday. They walked away with a 3-1 win over the Timber Creek Wolves. That result was just more of the same for these two, as the Bulldogs also won the last time the pair played back in October of 2024.

Once all was said and done, the final score wound up at 25-14, 25-15, 16-25, 25-20.

DeLand found their leader in freshman Kohen Kazmierczak, who had five digs and two aces.

Timber Creek's loss came despite a true team effort with many players turning in solid performances. Perhaps the best among them was Valerie Yambao, who had 38 assists and 14 digs. Yambao is on a roll when it comes to assists, as she's now posted 13 or more in each of the last 13 games she's played. Tamia Alberty was another key player, getting 15 digs and three assists.

DeLand's victory bumped their record up to 14-9. As for Timber Creek, this is the second loss in a row for them and nudges their season record down to 13-9.

DeLand has already played their next contest, a 3-0 win against New Smyrna Beach on the 8th. As for Timber Creek, they also didn't take long to hit the court again: they've already played their next matchup, a 3-0 victory against Celebration on the 8th.
